Description

Oxycontin 10mg OC10 Mundipharma

DESCRIPTION :

Oxycontin 10mg OC10 (opium hydrochloride managed-release) tablets are an opioid analgesic that can be taken by mouth in dosages of 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 60, 80, and 160 mg. The amount of oxycodone hydrochloride salt per tablet is specified in the tablet strengths.

INDICATIONS AND USAGE:

  • The controlled-release oral version of oxycodone hydrochloride, OxyContin Tablets, is prescribed for the treatment of mild to serious discomfort when an ongoing, constant a painkiller is required.
  • Use of OxyContin as a prescription-only analgesic is NOT advised.
  • In every case, doctors should treat each patient as an individual, starting treatment at the right time to transition from non-opioid analgesics, like a medicine called and non-steroidal

Anti-inflammatory drugs, to opioids in a pain management plan like those recommended by the American Pain Society, the Federation of State Medical Boards Model Guidelines, the World Health Organization, or the Agency for medical Research and Quality (formerly known as the Agency for medical services Policy and Research).

WARNING:

  • Like morphine, Oxycontin 10mg OC10 is a synthetic opioid and a Schedule II managed substance with a high potential for misuse.
  • The misuse of oxycodone is comparable to that of other heroin agonists, whether they are permitted or illegal.
  • When writing a prescription or distributing Oxycontin 10mg OC10 in circumstances where the higher risk of abuse, fraud, or diverting worries a doctor or pharmacist.

Oxycontin 10mg OC10 Misuse, Abuse and Diversion of Opioids:

One morphine-type drug agonist is oxycodone. These drugs are prone to criminal diversion and are sought after by illicit drug users and addicts. The abuse of oxycodone is comparable to that of other opioid agonists, whether they are acceptable or illegal. When prescribing or dispensing OxyContin, a doctor or pharmacist should take this into account if they are worried about a higher risk of abuse, misuse, or diversion.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Patients who have a history of oxycodone hypersensitivity or in any other circumstance where opioids are not advised should not take OxyContin. Patients with acute or serious asthma of the lungs, hypercarbia, and patients with significant respiratory depression fall under this category. Any patient with paralytic ileus, confirmed or believed should not take OxyContin.

OVERDOSAGE:

  • The lung depression, somnolence leading to drowsiness or unconsciousness, rigid muscle mass, frigid wet skin, restricted pupils, cardiac arrest, low blood pressure, and death are some of the symptoms of an acute oxycodone overdose.
  • Overdose deaths associated with Oxycontin 10mg OC10 abuse and misuse have been documented.
  • Alcohol and OxyContin abuse together significantly raises the chance of a dangerous overdose.

Conclusion:

A controlled-release oxycodone tablet called Oxycontin 10mg OC10 is used to treat moderate-to-severe pain. Warn against abusing it by emphasizing that it is an opioid. Respiratory problems and hypersensitivity are examples of contraindications. The signs of an overdose are described, highlighting the danger, particularly when alcohol is involved.
